TypeScript Platform Engineer

About the Role

This is an opportunity to join a small, fast-growing Stockholm-based startup building a creative product with AI at its core.

We’re looking for a highly capable and independent engineer who wants to take real ownership of both technology and product. You’ll work across the entire software lifecycle – from architecture and technical decisions to implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

The role is closer to being an early or founding engineer than joining an established engineering organization. You should be comfortable building things from the ground up, making pragmatic technical decisions with limited guidance, and taking responsibility for substantial parts of the platform.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering, with significant influence over both how the product is built and how the engineering organization develops. This is a role for someone who combines strong technical ability with product thinking, curiosity, and a drive to ship.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a backend, full-stack, or product engineer

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and a good understanding of Node.js and its concurrency model

• A track record of independently owning and delivering substantial parts of a product or platform

• Experience taking systems from idea and architecture through implementation, deployment, and production

• Strong programming fundamentals and high standards for maintainable, high-quality code

• Experience designing and building scalable systems

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and modern cloud infrastructure

• Strong product mindset and an ability to balance technical quality with speed and user value

• Comfortable making technical decisions and solving ambiguous problems independently

• High level of motivation, curiosity, and ownership

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to work from the Stockholm office five days a week

Nice to Have

• Experience as a founding engineer, early-stage startup engineer, or in another role with significant technical ownership

• Hands-on experience building AI-native or agentic products, tools, or developer workflows

• Experience building your own agentic harnesses, autonomous workflows, or AI-powered applications

• Side projects or products that demonstrate strong technical curiosity and an ability to build independently

• Interest in creative applications of AI

• Curiosity about GPU-accelerated computing environments
