Summer is over and the days are getting shorter, but that’s no reason to be gloomy! Because, as summer ends, it’s time for the meetup season to start—and we’ve got a schedule packed with functional programming events!
Haskell Meetup, August 28
First up, Functional Software is organizing a Haskell meetup on August 28, as part of the Haskell Stockholm meetup group. The event will be hosted at SUNET, who have been gracious enough to help out with a venue for the event.
For more information and RSVP, see Haskell 2024 Autumn Meetup @ Sunet
F# Meetup, September 4
Are you curious about F#, the functional-first programming language for the .NET platform? Or maybe you’re an experienced F# hacker who lives and breathes computation expressions and eats units of measure for breakfast? Either way, on the 4th of September we’re hosting an F# meetup at Svea Bank.
For more information and RSVP, see F# Fall 2024 Meetup @ Svea Bank
Scala Meetup, September 12
As if that wasn’t enough functional programming meetups, we’re also hosting a Scala Meetup in collaboration with Wolt! There will be drinks, food and mingle, plus talks by Thomas Alexandre and Phillip Haller.
For more information and RSVP, see Scala Autumn Meetup @ Wolt
Func Prog Sweden
Also, don’t forget to check out the Func Prog Sweden meetup group! Func Prog hosts both virtual and in-person events with a focus on functional programming. They are hosting a bunch of interesting meetups this fall:
- September 8: Eighth Func Prog Sweden 2024 (Online)
- October 8: Func Prog Sweden 2024 at Kivra (In-person)
More events
Do you know of any more functional programming events in the Nordics or online? Or maybe you want to start your own meetup group and want some help or advice? In either case, don’t hesitate to reach out! You can find Functional Software on LinkedIn or on X as @funcsoftware.
